Go here for the transcript from a great discussion panel organised by Jim Wallis and the Sojourners community, with several of the Democratic Presidential candidates (Obama, Edwards and Clinton).
Of course there's the usual political rhetoric - but alongside of that it's fascinating to here some of these highly public figures talk of their personal struggles with prayer, forgiveness, sin and discerning God in the midst of life. Worth a read.
For a different angle on the event, the NewYorkTimes covers the event here.

An interesting interview indeed. You can very clearly see their political approach reflected in their faith positions. Hillary the centrist - not wanting to offend anyone (oh well she can try anyway) and keeps her faith in her pocket. Barack the vibrant revolutionary quoting Dr King, who is deeply and openly connected to both his faith and the faith community (note his birthday wishes to Rev Wallis). And then there's Mr Edwards. Doesn't really have a clear cut position - but comes across as just the decent bloke - a bit bland but not too much wrong with him. The more I look at the US Presidential Race in those terms, I think Edwards may prove a surprise packet.
It's odd for me to see here you discussing our politics. Not that it doesn't make sense. Just odd. That's all.
btw -
I've been checking your blog for a couple weeks now. I like.
I came across it when I was looking for an article by Bruggemann that you had listed - hurt and hope, I think. Good stuff.
welcome to urbanstone T.Basselin! Yes I suppose that it might seem strange to read of your own nation's politics on an Australian blog - however our government, economy and culture is tied in some many ways to that of the US, that we would be crazy not to keep an eye on things. And whent he next US presudential election looks to have such an impact on future US foreign policy in particular, that interest increases further.
And apart from that, I blame the West Wing ;)
Yeah, I understand its significance. I suppose what I find odd is how little people here take it seriously. To see you talking about it reminded me of American mainstream apathy.
How's the theology of salvation coming along?
I'm currently working on a theology of weakness.
